Photograph showing a tea offering ceremony, which is a traditional Chinese custom for weddings. After the married couple arrives at the house of the groom, they will kneel down and serve tea to the elders. Since kneeling down symbolizes humbleness and submission, the tea ceremony is a ritual for the couple to gain acceptance into the groom's family. In return, the couple will receive words of blessing, a red packet or even expensive jewellery at times. -
