Infection Prevention Team, National University Hospital, during COVID-19 pandemic

"THANK YOU NUHEROES. The Infection Prevention Team at the National University Hospital (NUH) carries the weight of an important mission on their shoulders – to teach the hospital’s COVID-19 “army” how to protect themselves. Just one breach in infection control may lead to a transmission in the hospital and offsite facilities managed by NUH. To prevent that from happening, the team works with departments to improve infection control processes. They are deeply involved in the set-up of pandemic wards and screening areas. Not only do they train healthcare workers on hand hygiene practices, personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines, and decontamination protocols, they also guide colleagues in the hot zones on PPE donning and doffing practices. NUH’s Infection Prevention Team ensures that the hospital’s frontline healthcare workers are protected, confident and can go back to their families safe."--Contributed by National University Hospital, as part of the "Documenting COVID-19 in Singapore" collection community call.
