This 1982 photograph depicts godowns at Wallich Street, near Maxwell Road corner, south side. Wallich Street is named after botanist Nathaniel Wallich, who set up the first Botanical Garden on Government Hill (now Fort Canning). The roads mentioned are in the Tanjong Pagar area.
