Joon Tong Road (currently stretch of Pan Island Expressway along Jurong West) -- Chinese temple in the village
Aerial view of public housing taking shape in Potong Pasir estate in the mid to late 1980s, with the unique sloping roof design being the most distinctive feature of the estate. The water body on the left is a stretch of the Kallang River. The lower half of the photograph shows the Pan-Island Expressway (Jalan Toa Payoh), with the overhead bridge across to St Andrew's Junior School, St Andrew's Secondary School and the Ascension Kindergarten at Woodsville. Towards the extreme right is the Upper Serangoon Road (aka Third Mile or Sar Ko Chio in Hokkien), while in the foreground are low-rise housing and shophouses in the Moonstone Lane and Opal Crescent areas.
