This 1982 photograph shows Tanjong Pagar Road, towards Cook Street, on the left. It shows a view of a street with shophouses and roadside parking lots, along both sides of the road. Tanjong Pagar means "cape of stakes" in Malay, and the road is probably named for the kelongs found in the sea near the area. Title devised by Library staff.
