This 1992 photograph shows Lorong 33 Geylang, towards Geylang Road. It shows a one-way street with two-storey shophouses along the sides, and roadside parking lots. Geylang is believed to be a corruption of the term "kilang", Malay for factory, from the coconut and lemongrass processing factories of the area. Title devised by Library staff.
