This photograph shows the arterial Bras Basah and Stamford Roads, with the surrounding City Hall area and the neighbouring Central Business District around Raffles Place. Landmarks in the foreground include Rendezvous Hotel Singapore, the land where SMU (Singapore Management University) presently stands, Cathedral of the Good Shepherd, Presbyterian Church, YMCA (Young Men Christian Association) International House, National Museum Of Singapore (formerly Singapore History Museum) and on the right, Fort Canning Park. In the background, skyscrapers like Pan Pacific Hotel Singapore, Raffles City, Peninsula Plaza, OUB (Overseas Union Bank) Centre, OCBC (Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation) Centre among others, can be seen just before the sea.
