This photograph shows a portion of Singapore's cityscape taken in the south direction. Prominent landmarks include the Padang, Singapore Cricket Club and the Old Supreme Court beside the Padang, what is now the New Supreme Court, Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall, The Fullerton Hotel, Singapore River, the bumboats (also called twakows or tongkangs) filled Boat Quay, Elgin Bridge, High Street Centre and the Central Business District around Raffles Place.
