This 1983 photograph shows Clemenceau Avenue, from Cavenagh Road. A traffic gantry, marking the entry into the restricted zone, can be seen in the centre of the photograph, while a commercial building can be seen to the right. Clemenceau Avenue is named after French premier Georges Clemenceau, while Cavenagh Road is named after Straits Settlements Governor William Orfeur Cavenagh. Title devised by Library staff.
