This is a 1974 photograph of boats docking at Clifford Pier. An embarkation and disembarkation pier, it was once a busy landing and departure point after its opening. During the pre-air travel era and after, it served passengers commuting between ships anchored out at sea and the Singapore mainland. For a time, bumboats ferried people to and from the various off-shore islands from this point. Photograph donated by Ho Seng Huat and displayed at the Heritage Roadshow 2008. Title devised by Library staff.
