This photograph shows Singapore River further down from Elgin Bridge (not visible on the right of the photograph). The river is busy with many bumboats, big and small, In the background, shophouses housing many different businesses lined along the riverbank such as "Ann King" which is situated besides a chemist. There are three cranes along the bank, and behind the shophouses, a building is under construction. Title devised by Library staff.
