This 1992 photograph depicts shophouses (dated 1939) at Geylang Road, between Lorong 28 and 30 Geylang. Geylang is believed to be a corruption of the term "kilang", Malay for factory, from the coconut and lemongrass processing factories of the area. Title devised by Library staff.
