This 1956 photograph is a profile view of actress Li Lihua at Clifford Pier, an embarkation and disembarkation pier located on Collyer Quay. The actress dressed in samfoo, is standing with her hands placed on a young girl's shoulders. Boats at the pier and the arches of the pier are partially seen in the background. During the pre air-travel era and after, the pier served passengers commuting between ships anchored out at sea and the Singapore mainland. Donated by Lim Geok Lian, and displayed at the Heritage Roadshow 2008. HRS3_087. Title devised by Library staff.
