This is a 1982 photograph of Clemenceau Avenue, from the United Engineers' Building towards the city. It shows low-rise commercial buildings in the foreground of the photograph, and several residential apartment blocks in the background. Clemenceau Avenue, previously known as Tank Road until 1919, was renamed in honour of Georges Clemenceau, Prime Minister of France, during his visit. Title devised by Library staff.
