This is a photograph of the back door of a village house in Jalan Siput off East Coast Road. In most rural areas, fire-prone houses were made from basic wooden planks and attap roofs. This photograph depicts the simplicity and the relaxed way of life that were prevalent during the kampong days. Photograph donated by Tan Marilyn and displayed at the Heritage Roadshow 2008. Title devised by Library staff. Date of creation estimated.
