This 1983 photograph shows New Bridge Road, from the corner of Upper Circular Road (towards North Canal Road). It shows a view of a street with shophouses on the right, with several high-rise commercial buildings in the background, one of which is still under construction. Built in 1842, New Bridge Road was named after Coleman's New Bridge which was constructed over the Singapore River in 1840. Title devised by Library staff.
