This 1966 photograph shows the interior of a typical Peranakan terrace house in Malacca. Some architectural features seen are louvred casement windows, circular vents and Chinese frescoes painted above the doors and windows. This house is the ancestral home to the late Tun Dato Sri Sir Cheng-lock Tan, the founder of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA), which advocated his cause for the Malaysian Chinese population.
