Neil Road house, scroll plaque : close-up



This 1969 photograph shows a scroll plaque, inscribed with Chinese characters (紫荆) referring to the Chinese Redbud. The plaque is featured on the front façade of the Wee family (descendants of 19th century shipping tycoon Wee Bin) residence on Neil Road. It has since been converted into the Tan Cheng Lock Baba House Museum. Title devised by Library staff.
