All Lines Flow Out 2011, Charles Lim : general view [2]

This is a photograph of two fishing nets hanging from the ceiling, filled with dried leaves to resemble that of crustaceans found growing in Singapore's waterways, and a digital screen in the background, with a video capture of a waterway. For this art installation, Charles Lim "contemplates the drain system in Singapore. As obscure passages with a largely unidirectional flow, these drains can trace a hidden journey from one point on the island to another. Lim records, collects and re-presents what he finds in a series of high definition (HD) anamorphic videos." This art installation was featured at the Singapore Biennale 2011 (Old Kallang Airport). Title given by artist.
