This 1993 photograph shows shophouses at Tanglin Road, next to Tanglin Shopping Centre. The ground floor of the building houses some shops. Tanglin Road was named after William Napier's house, called Tang Leng which means "east hill peaks" in Chinese, referring to the many hills in the area in the 1840s. Title devised by Library staff.
