This 1982 photograph shows Geylang Road, westwards from near Paya Lebar Road junction. It shows a view of a street lined with shophouses and roadside parking lots. Geylang is believed to be a corruption of the term "kilang", Malay for factory, from the coconut and lemongrass processing factories of the area. Title devised by Library staff.
