This 1969 photograph shows the front facade of the Wee family (descendents of 19th century shipping tycoon Wee Bin) residence on Neil Road. It features the distinctive swinging doors (pintu pagar), a typical fixture of Peranakan houses that allows in breezes while maintaining privacy. The house has since been converted into the Tan Cheng Lock Baba House Museum. Seen above the door is a plaque inscribed with Chinese characters (种盛). Title devised by Library staff.
