This is a 1956 photograph of actress Li Lihua at Clifford Pier, which is an embarkation and disembarkation pier located on Collyer Quay. The actress dressed in samfoo, is standing behind actor, Yan Jun who is lifting a young girl up. Many by-standers on the steps and under the arches of the pier are seen in the background. During the pre air-travel era and after, the pier served passengers commuting between ships anchored out at sea and the Singapore mainland. Donated by Lim Geok Lian, and displayed at the Heritage Roadshow 2008. HRS3_085. Title devised by Library staff.
