This image shows the back of the photographic paper, with printed logos “Crown Copyright” and a hand-written number “3669” on it. A note in typescript is also pasted on the back. The note reads: "Opening of war crimes trial at Singapore. In the Supreme Court at Singapore, Lt. Col. L.G. Coleman, to-day (Monday, 21/1/46) opened the first of the War Crimes Trials in South East Asia Command. Ten Japanese Officers, and other ranks were charged with offences alleging beating, overworking, general maltreatment of Indian Prisoners of War, causing death in some cases. There were also charges of execution against some of them. Picture shows:- 3669... Members of the Court take the oath, on the left is Capt.
