This 2010 photograph shows a sculpture titled "Another Day (The Coolies)" by Chong Fah Cheong, who is a Singapore sculptor known for many public sculptures in Singapore, one of which is "The First Generation" found at Cavenagh Bridge. In this artwork, two lean and muscular men are sharing a simple meal on a wooden bench and table. One of the men squats unceremoniously on his seat whilst the other draws up a leg to his chest as he raises the bowl to his lips. This sight, once unremarkable for its ubiquity, is considered a "vanishing scene' amongst an expanding list of 'endangered' sights in urban Singapore. This sculpture was created for the Singapore Tourism Board's pavilion during Expo 2000 in Frankfurt, Germany. Title devised by Library staff.
