Hiap Chuan Joo was one of the largest sawmill factories in Singapore. Located at Balestier it produced wooden crates used for beverages including Coca-Cola and Tiger Beer. Taken on 12 December 1964 this photograph shows a worker holding a plank near a machine at the factory. Title devised by Library staff.
