City Hall : night view



This is a photograph of City Hall at night, taken from across the Padang. It shows the front exterior of the building lit up. The City Hall building is architecturally noteworthy for its Corinthian columns. Historically, it was the site of the Japanese surrender in 1945 and declaration of Singapore's independence in 1965. City Hall was gazetted as a national monument on 14 February 1992. Date of creation estimated. Title devised by Library staff.
