Dr. Wu Lien-teh, front centre. This photograph shows Dr. Wu Lien-teh with Taheiho officials and their families in 1913. In all there are nine men and seven women. Dr. Wu, a Penang-born physician, led the fight against plagues in China. This was taken in a room decorated in Western style. Four of the women are seated on a sofa while two are seated on chairs on the left. Dr. Wu is seated on at a small round table in front of the sofa. Title devised by Library staff.
