This 1968 photograph shows the Istana Kampong Glam, at Sultan Gate. Sultan Mosque is visible in the background. Sultan Gate is so-named as the road leads into the Istana Kampong Glam, which was the palace of the Sultan of Singapore. Kampong Glam was the historic seat of Malay royalty in Singapore.
