This 1983 photograph shows New Bridge Road, from Upper Cross Street (towards Neil Road). It shows a view of a one-way street with a bus lane on the right. A row of shophouses can be seen on the left, while a pedestrian crossing can be seen in the right foreground. Built in 1842, New Bridge Road was named after Coleman's New Bridge which was constructed over the Singapore River in 1840. Title devised by Library staff.
