"The children's grandparents and cousins are in KL; and we have not been able to see them since CNY. My dad (the kids' fav grandfather) used to visit them every month, coming to stay with us for a week during each visit. He was a very involved grandpa and used to fly or drive to Singapore to attend every school event from sports day to musical concerts to birthdays. Thus the grandkids really miss him and their grandma too. Ryan who is 10 years old decided to write and direct his own movie involving the grandparents and the cousins from KL. It is called Project Bond - aka James Bond but also a project to bond across the borders as he roped in grandparents and cousins in the movie! ;-) It is a murder mystery and we leveraged technology like Zoom to be able to do the movie together. We even had an online screening with our family in Malaysia to watch it together."--Contributed by Louisa Chng Yee Chen, as part of the "Documenting COVID-19 in Singapore" collection community call. This photograph shows a screenshot of an online family movie. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, families were unable to meet in person. Instead families used applications like Zoom, Google Meet and such like to catch up with each other, and even to create and screen a home movie. Additional description by Library staff.
