This 1981 photograph shows family mourners kneeling on mats at a Chinese funeral wake, at Sago Lane. Family members of the deceased are garbed in mourning clothes. Some of them wear straw overcoats and hats, while others wear white garments. The different grades of mourning garments correspond with the levels of order in the family.
