Raffles Library and Museum, 1890s : exterior

This 1890s photograph shows the exterior of Raffles Library and Museum, located at Stamford Road. The museum was designed in Neo-Palladian and Renaissance style. It consists of two rectangular parallel blocks, with a dome at the front of the building. Metal gates with stone posts surround the museum grounds. The building is now known as the National Museum of Singapore. Title devised by Library staff. Date of creation estimated. Information contributed by Richard Hale.
