The old Chinatown buildings carry a mixture of Chinese and European architecture known as the Palladian architecture. This is an example of a curved timber window frame set with a mix of glass and wood with an intricate design on the wall. -

Shophouse No. 6 Koon Seng Road bought by a Hindu family, Gangabai, in 1925. Classical Ionic columns with timber door and window frames, adapted to Singapore's tropical climate through use of louvres for ventilation. Vertical iron bars spanning the length of windows provide added security. -
