This 1966 photograph shows the upper level façade of a shophouse in Malacca. The architecture of the shophouse is a fusion of European and Chinese styles. Features include Corinthian pilasters, semi-circular pediments on top of French windows and green glazed bamboo-shaped roof tiling. A panel of Fujian jian nian (cut and paste) style ceramic mosaic shards embedded in cement to form figures can also be seen. Title devised by Library staff.
