This is a 1982 photograph depicting Lorong 28 Geylang, towards Geylang Road. It shows a view of a tree-lined street with two-storey terrace houses on both sides of the road, and roadside parking lots. Geylang is believed to be a corruption of the term "kilang", Malay for factory, from the coconut and lemongrass processing factories of the area. Title devised by Library staff.
