This 1986 photograph shows houses, at no. 7, 8 and 9 Bras Basah Road. It depicts the three storeys houses with wooden French windows. Bras Basah is Malay for wet rice. In the early days, wet rice was laid to dry here on the banks of the Sungei Bras Basah, now known as the Stamford Canal. Title devised by Library staff.
