This 1970 photograph shows a group of people posing for a picture at Lai Wah Restaurant. More than 30 people are arranged in rows either seated or standing, for a group photograph beneath the restaurant's signboard ("丽华酒家" or "Lai Wah Restaurant"). Traditional Chinese pentagon-shaped lanterns are hung on both sides of the signboard. Also pictured are ceiling fans. This restaurant, started in the 1960s, was originally located at Jalan Besar.
