This 1993 photograph shows Joo Chiat Place (north side, from corner of Mangis Road, eastwards). A row of two-storey shophouses can be seen lining one side of the street. Joo Chiat Place is named after Chinese landowner Chew Joo Chiat. Title devised by Library staff.
