Hiap Chuan Joo was one of the largest sawmill factories in Singapore. Located at Balestier it produced wooden crates used for beverages including Coca-Cola and Tiger Beer. Taken in the 1950s this photograph shows Ng Siew Hoo, second son of the owner of the sawmill factory meeting R. Toplis, Manager of Lion Limited. Lion Limited was the authorised manufacturer and distributor of Coca Cola. Title devised by Library staff.
