This is a photograph from E. A. Brown's collection. It shows various boats at the New Year Sea Sports on 1 January 1925. The annual regatta is held at the Singapore Harbour, off Collyer Quay. Several buildings can be seen in the background, with the Union Building on the right, and the Ocean Building on the far left. The stern and funnel of the Varuna can also be seen on the right.
