This is an interview with Emeritus Professor Edwin Nadason Thumboo, a pioneer of English-language literature in Singapore. In the interview, Professor Thumboo recounts memories of his early life and his family, his school years, the period working in the Civil Service and teaching. He also shares about how he got into writing and about his works, for example, "Cough of Albuquerque", "Gods Can Die" and "The Flowering Tree". In the last segment of the interview, he shares his thoughts on his achievements, in particular the awards that he had been conferred with. He was the first recipient of the Cultural Medallion for Literature (1979).
