Just for Kids has the educational videos plus songs, games, and other interactives that are sure to entertain, educate, and inspire young patrons.   3. Apabi Digital Library of Chinese e-books encompasses all genres. In conjunction with hundreds of publishing houses, the Apabi database is a constantly growing library collection of Chinese e-books covering arts, agriculture, aerospace, business and management, economics, education, history, laws, literature, language, healthcare, medicine, military science, philosophy, psychology, religion and many other subjects.我馆拥有北大方正电子有限公司制作的电子图书总量为35万余种、70万余册和年鉴1千余种。其中电子图书为来自 400 多家出版社的正版电子图书,覆盖了中图法所有二级分类。

    Currently, you can search and browse Apabi eBooks titles using public terminals at NLB libraries. To download and read Apabi eBooks you need to access the Apabi Library using your own computer.   4. Collection:BiblioAsia

    BiblioAsia is a free quarterly publication produced by the National Library Board. It features articles on the history, culture and heritage of Singapore within the larger Asian context, and has a strong focus on the collections and services of the National Library. BiblioAsia is distributed to local and international libraries, academic institutions, government ministries and agencies, as well as members of the public. The online versions of BiblioAsia are also available.


  5. EIU Viewpoint provides insights into a country’s political and economic outlook and business environment and includes long term forecasts up to 2050. It offers comprehensive and independent assessment of a country’s sovereign, banking, currency, economic & political risks with a horizon of 2 years and analysis for six key industries in a country. Detailed coverage of China’s provinces as well as forecasts are also included.

    Euromonitor Passport covers thousands of product categories and industries, and market research helps users better understand core business and future opportunities. Passport's robust analysis and visualisation tools allow research with real-world relevance, and can be applied to strategic planning, economic analysis, industry benchmarking, competitive threats and market entry studies.

    Accessibility features for Euromonitor Passport include support for non-text content, pre-recorded audio and video content, pre-recorded captions, text resizing and colour contrast.

  7. Gale Business: Insights provides business intelligence, combining Gale reference content with other business sources and full-text periodicals to help researchers understand today's global business environment.

    Accessibility features for Gale Business: Insights include adjustable font, font sizes, font spacing, colour contrast and text-to-speech access for HTML articles, screen reader support and access to transcripts and closed captioning for video and audio content.   8. Gale's eBook platform provides top titles from the best nonfiction publishers and complements other eBook platforms. NLB’s Gale eBooks collection feature Malay language titles, and Singapore and South East Asia related topics and titles. Noteworthy eBook collections also include The Papers Of Lee Kuan Yew (19 volumes), National Day Rally Speeches and more.

    Accessibility features for Gale include keyboard navigation, skip navigation links, descriptive page titles, adjustable text size and font, text-to-speech, optimised screen width and optimal contrast ratios, and option to display on-screen or download Optical Character Recognition (OCR) plain text of historical archive documents.   9. HistorySG

    HistorySG is an online resource guide to events that have unfolded in Singapore's history since 1299 to the present. Each event is briefly introduced in a short write-up accompanied by links to related content from the collections of the National Library Board (NLB) as well as that of other agencies and institutions.

    This edatabase has been replaced with National Library Online with effect from 4 Oct 2023. Available at all libraries and from home.


  10. HyRead is a Chinese eBooks/eAudiobooks and eMagazines platform offering mainly titles published in Taiwan. It also includes Chinese publications from Hong Kong, China, Singapore and Malaysia. The content includes Fiction, Literature, Humanities, Business, Comics, etc. Users can access the eBooks/eAudiobooks and eMagazines via PC, or through the HyRead mobile app which is available from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. 平台主要提供台湾的中文电子书/有声书与电子杂志,但也包括了来自香港﹑中国大陆﹑新马等地的中文出版品。内容种类包括文学小说﹑人文﹑商业、漫画等。可供网上阅读或下载到个人电脑及移动装置。

  11. Infobase Learning Cloud offers bite-size, on-demand learning modules that help students, educators, and professionals build skills in the classroom, at work and in life.

    Accessibility features for Infobase Learning Cloud include partial compatibility with screen readers (e.g. missing labels in some parts), synchronized closed captioning for videos, interactive transcripts, keyboard navigation, and colour contrast between the font and background.   12. iRead eBook is a Chinese eBook platform offering mainly titles published in Taiwan. Subjects covered include fiction, literature, humanities, social sciences, national sciences, languages, arts, business, leisure, travel, health, etc. For downloading of eBooks for offline reading, patrons would need to install iRead eBook software if they are using PC, or download the Airiti Reader mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. 华艺中文电子书平台收录主要来自台湾出版社的华文电子书,可以使用电脑在网上或下载阅读,或透过手机和平板电脑下载阅读。书籍种类包括小说、文学、人文、社会科学、自然科学、语言学习、艺术、商业、休闲、旅游、健康等。

  13. JSTOR provides online access to archived contents of important scholarly journals, mainly in the humanities and social sciences. Researchers are able to retrieve high-resolution, scanned images of back issues of journals and pages as they were originally printed. Existing titles are updated and new titles are added on an ongoing basis.

  14. Kanopy General Collection

    Kanopy General Collection offers a wide range of full-length movies, documentaries, foreign films, classic cinema, independent films and educational videos. The video content available on this platform is rated PG13 and below.

    Step 1) Key in myLibrary username under “LIBRARY CARD NUMBER” and myLibrary password under “LIBRARY CARD PIN/PASSWORD”.
    Step 2) Create your Kanopy account using email and password, or sign up with your Google/Apple account.
    Step 3) If you are a mobile user, please download the Kanopy app. Refer to the Step-by-Step guide for mobile access here.
    For subsequent logins, you may use your Kanopy/Google/Apple account to directly access Kanopy General Collection.

    You will be leaving the National Library Board’s site if you choose to access the content under Kanopy. Please be informed that Kanopy’s site requires you to create an account with them by providing an email address (Note: This need not be the same email address you have provided to NLB for purposes of your NLB membership).     LawNet, a service provided by the Singapore Academy of Law, caters to the research and legal information needs of the global legal community. Since its inception in 1988 as a dial up network access provider, LawNet has grown in leaps and bounds, adding information, applications and databases to suit the evolving needs of legal practitioners, corporate counsel, paralegals, law academics and law students. Legal Research, a module within LawNet, is an integrated environment that allows you to search different types of legal content and multiple sources at a single go.

    LinkedIn Learning is a leading online learning platform that helps users learn business, software, technology, creative design and other skills to achieve personal and professional goals. It has a content library of more than 21,000 courses taught by over 2,900 industry experts with real-world experience. Every instructor is vetted based on criteria such as their deep, practical knowledge, credibility and credentials.

The medici.tv platform is home to the world’s largest video-on-demand catalogue in the classical music industry with concerts, operas, ballets, documentaries, master classes and jazz programmes available to stream in high definition (HD). The video content available on this platform is rated PG13 and below.

    Accessibility features for medici.tv include alternative text for images, subtitles for concert programs (operas, documentaries), complete keyboard navigation for users, total support of orientation mode.

    You will be leaving the National Library Board’s site if you choose to use the services under Medici. Please be informed that Medici’s platform has a feature that allows you to create an individual account if you wish to do so.   20. MusicSG

    MusicSG is a non-profit digital archive set up to digitise, archive and provide access to all forms of published Singapore musical works. It assembles a collection of music composed or published by Singaporeans, music produced or published in Singapore, and music related to Singapore. Resources featured are based on collections (e.g. by composers and items related to places in Singapore) and composers. They can be also browsed by genres which include the following Campaign Music, Chinese Classical, Computer Music, Films/TV/Musicals, Folk, Hip Hop/Rap, Indian, Jazz, Malay, National Music, Pop, Religious Music, Rock/Metal, Trance/Techno, Western Classical.
