The Feedback Unit, set up in 1985, is a Singapore Government agency whose aim is to give Singaporeans "a forum to understand major policies, ask questions, make suggestions and generally participate in working out a solution" (Mr. Goh Chok Tong, First Deputy Prime Minister, January 1985). Its website requires a member log in. In the section of the website "Consultation in progress", the gist of national issues and policies is provided and views are invited. A people's forum, highlights and upcoming activities are included. Replies to feedback are offered. Links to online youth and business communities are available. An e-poll on burning topics can be taken. The Feedback Unit has been revamped to reflect its enhanced roles and objectives and its new name is REACH, or Reaching Everyone for Active Citizenry @ Home. On 12 October 2006, its new website www.reach.gov.sg. was announced by Mr Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister, at its 21st Anniversary dinner.
