Description
This is a picture of Mr. Ee Peng Liang giving a speech. He was a chartered accountant and President of Singapore Council of Social Services (Majlis Perkhidmatan Masharakat Singapura) or SCSS from 1964 to 1992. He was Member of Public Service Commission (1957-1959); President of Rotary Club of Singapore (1964-1965), Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (1967) and Singapore Scout Association (1978); founder and Chairman of Community Chest of Singapore (1983-1992); founder and President of Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (1972-1975); Vice-Chairman of Singapore Cancer Society (1964-1966); and Chairman of Catholic Junior College Management Committee (1975-1976). He was conferred the Distinguished Service Order and the Order of Nila Utama (Second Class) in 1985 and 1991 respectively. His son, Mr. Gerard Ee Hock Kim, served as Nominated Member of Parliament (1997-2002); President of Automobile Association of Singapore (1996-2006) and National Council of Social Service (2002-2006).
