Description
This picture depicts Mrs. Koh Juat Jong standing in a room full of law books and references. In 1978 and 1986, she was awarded the President's and Overseas Merit Scholarships respectively. She joined the Administrative Service and served in the Ministry of Finance from 1981 to 1986, before joining the Legal Service in 1989. She was later posted to the Attorney-General's Chambers as State Counsel. She was posted back to Supreme Court as a Senior Assistant Registrar in 1994. She became a District Judge at the Subordinate Courts (1995); Principal District Judge in the Family and Juvenile Justice Division (1999-2003), and later Registrar of Supreme Court (2003-2008). She was the first woman appointed as Solicitor-General of Singapore (Apr 2008-to date). Title devised by Library staff.
