C.H.I.J. Victoria Street, 1854-1983 (1983)
This book traces the history of the Convent of Holy Infant Jesus Singapore. Rev. Jean Marie Beurel, who was in the Mission of Singapore for 30 years from 1839-1869, wrote to the Government of Butterworth on the need to find another charitable institution for girls since St. Joseph's Institution had been established earlier. In February 1854, Rev. Mr. St Mathilde with 3 sisters opened the Singapore Convent.
