The Queen Victoria Memorial Hall, Singapore


This photograph depicts the Victoria Memorial Hall (renamed as Victoria Concert Hall in 1980) and the distinctive clock tower. Scaffoldings around the clock tower can be seen in the picture, indicating that works on the clock tower are in progress. The image was reproduced from a book in the National Library Collection. Photograph taken by Wan Yue Kong of Chew Studios; contributed by Lee Kip Lin (forming part of The Lee Kip Lin Collection). The complex of Victoria Theatre and Victoria Concert Hall was gazetted as a national monument on 14 February 1992. Title taken from image caption.
