Chin Chew Street, midway between South Bridge Road and China Street : general view

This 1983 photograph shows Chin Chew Street, midway between South Bridge Road and China Street (south-side). Rows of shophouses, some with laundry on poles hanging out of the windows, can be seen on the left of the photograph. Several vehicles, including bicycles, a car, and trucks, are parked on the road in front of the shophouses. On 18 January 1997, Chin Chew Street became part of the China Square Conservation Area. Title devised by Library staff.
