Kallang River, at Geylang Bahru : general view [8]

This 1992 photograph shows a view of Kallang River at Geylang Bahru, from the gate of the Lee Rubber warehouse. A row of terrace houses can be seen to the right of the river. Kallang River, which flows from Peirce Reservoir, is Singapore's longest river. The river is named after the original inhabitants of Singapore, the Biduanda Orang Kallang, who lived in the swamps at the mouth of the river. Title devised by Library staff.
